In the Nemai Nagar village in Kolkata, recent project efforts have focused on deepening community knowledge and strengthening the agroforestry systems. On-site handholding sessions provided practical training in organic pest management, mulching and the preparation of bio-fertilizers such as Jeevamrit and compost tea. Emphasis was placed on soil moisture conservation and sustainable management. Follow-up technical support included household-level training on planting care, pruning and compost application, with visual demonstrations significantly improving uptake and confidence.

To foster broader awareness, a village-level meeting was held highlighting the importance of native fruit species, nutritional security and household-level biodiversity.

Meanwhile, the project nursery was further enriched with new seed varieties and improved shade structures, ensuring a steady supply of quality saplings for future planting cycles.
