This peatland restoration and conservation project operates under the Verra (VCS) standard and protects 149,800 hectares of tropical peat swamp forest in Central Kalimantan, Indonesian Borneo, one of the largest remaining intact peat swamp forests in Indonesia. The project lies entirely within state-designated production forest and prevents its conversion into industrial timber plantations, delivering credible greenhouse gas emission reductions while protecting high conservation value species such as the Bornean orangutan and proboscis monkey.
Community development lies at the project's heart, working hand in hand with surrounding village partners to support sustainable livelihoods and strengthen local wellbeing.
