Seagrass mid-season planting update

Loch Craignish, United Kingdom
7/14/2026

This season, our local Seawilding team in Scotland has already transplanted nearly 16,000 seagrass plants in Loch Craignish, with another 700 plants scheduled to be planted this week. With that, the total restoration effort since 2023 will reach 8,000 m² of seagrass habitat — roughly the equivalent of 30 tennis courts 🌱🎾

The team has also completed the planned trial work. The next phase is monitoring: site surveys are planned for September, followed by drone monitoring in October. These checks will help show how well the new seagrass is establishing and will add to the growing evidence base around what works best in restoration.

We’re excited to share more visual updates soon!
