We're excited to share that we have partnered with Airscan to deploy air quality sensors at two of our forest plots: Laurensart and Humbeek.
**What we're measuring **The sensors capture real-time data, tracking NO₂, PM2.5 and PM10 (key air pollutants), as well as temperature and humidity. All data is fed directly to an online platform for continuous analysis.
**Why it matters **Forests are nature's air filters, but to truly understand their role, we need data. This monitoring network allows to map pollutant concentrations at high spatial resolution, helping identify pollution sources, study how weather shapes pollutant behaviour, and track the movement of pollution plumes through and around forests.
Coming soon We're working on a joint campaign with Airscan to bring this story to life: celebrating the vital role forests play in air quality, and encouraging everyone to get outside and go to the forest. Because the best air? You'll find it between the trees.
Stay tuned. 📡
