Monitoring update on the Isle la Hesse project

Belgium
8/7/2026

Monitoring conducted in July 2026 shows the Isle la Hesse site, planted in March 2025, settling in well after its first full growing season. The hedge species are showing an 80% recovery rate, while the conifers are performing more strongly at 90%, with the site overall in good health.

Some browsing damage from game has been recorded, affecting around 20% of the hedge and 10% of the conifers, while no weather-related damage has occurred. To support the young trees through their establishment phase, manual clearing has been carried out around the plantation. Once established, the trees will form a visually impactful arboreal border between the surrounding agricultural fields and the national road.
