In March 2026, farmers in Madagascar brought 15,997 new trees to life across two agroforestry projects, supported by Go Forest clients. In Akamasoa, 11,923 trees were planted in multiple small plantations on local farms, as part of the large Akamasoa agroforestry project. In Ambanja, another 4,074 trees were planted on the farms of our farmer partners.
In Akamasoa, species planted include persimmon, citrus, peach, pink peppercorn, eucalyptus, acacia and ash. In Ambanja, the plantations combine coffee, moringa, cashew, mango, jackfruit, neem, Moluccan ironwood, Madagascar almond, marula, African mahogany, monkeypod, white siris, limba and mandrorofo.
Through these plantations, we currently support 84 farmer partners in Akamasoa and 6 in Ambanja. Together with their families, around 90 households, or roughly 450 people, benefit indirectly from these projects.
More information and photos of both projects can be found on our impact platform. If you have a personal dashboard, you can also follow these plantations there.
